Principal's Corner
Mr. Kirkland welcomes our Principal
of the Day, Mr. Tibbetts.

Marvin (Mark) Tibbetts III, grew up working at
Tibs, a company founded by his father, Marvin Tibbetts, Jr.. As
an electrical apprentice during school breaks in high school and
college, Mark learned about the business from the ground up. After
graduating from West Georgia College, he joined the team at Tibs
in 1985 as a full-time employee and has served in estimating, engineering,
project management and sales management roles.
Mark developed the marketing plan that took the company into the
cabling market in the early '80s. In 1996, when Marvin Tibbetts
retired as CEO, Mark assumed that role. Over the next eight years,
he guided the company as it grew and expanded its offerings into
information technology, security and Power Quality services.
In December 2004, with the acquisition of Tibs Group by M.C.DEAN,
Inc., Mark became President and General Manager of the Tibs Group,
now a division of M.C.DEAN, Inc.
As President/GM, his role is to assure that customers' needs are
being met, the organization is in place to achieve its goals, and
that Tibs employees are able to build a stable career with the
company.
Most recently named the 2003 Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Small
Business Person of the Year, he has served on the Atlanta Independent
Electrical Contractors (IEC) Board of Directors, and in 2002 was
named the chapter's Member of the Year. Mark is also a member and
Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) with BICSI
International. He is an active member of the Gwinnett Chamber,
is on the board for Gwinnett Technical College, and he is an active
member of Gwinnett community. Mark is married with two children.
