Richards Middle School Chorus

Accelerating Music Achievement for All Students

Students are always looking for areas to excel and expand their talents as vocalists. The choral program at Richards allows students to be involved in many areas outside of the traditional choirs. Below you will find several of these opportunities. Some choirs have specific date commitments that must be met.

Extracurricular Choir Activities

Cadenza is an auditioned group of 8th grade ladies. It is designed to challenge and inspire the advanced singer to increase their musical repertoire. The ladies will perform varying styles of vocal music. This is an advanced auditioned group.

Cadenza Women's Choir

Men's choir is designed to give the young male singers another creative outlet to express themselves. We will use styles such as Barbershop, Broadway, Gospel, and traditional men's vocal music.

RMS Men's Choir

All State Chorus is an audition-only chorus that practices and performs in Savannah, GA . In order to participate, students must pass two challenging auditions. It is recommended only for students with solid musicianship skills. It is preferable that auditioning students seek private lessons in voice to prepare for these auditions.  A parent chaperone is required to accompany every student participant to Savannah.

All State Chorus

6^th grade Honor Chorus:

6^th grade Honor Chorus will be held at Clayton County Schools Performing Arts Center. This choir is made up of 6^th grade students selected to represent the best of each middle school in the county. Students will be selected by the director of their school based on musicianship, conduct, and rehearsal process.

7^th and 8^th grade Honor Chorus

7^th and 8^th grade Honor chorus is held in Athens , GA. There are three Middle School choirs that perform in the honor choir 7^th grade treble, 8^th grade treble, and a 7^th and 8^th grade male Ensemble. Students will be selected by their director based on musicianship, conduct, rehearsal process.
