  String Orchestra is open to all 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade students.  Students are not required to audition for these ensembles; however, it is strongly recommended that 7^th and 8^th grade students have previous string education (private lessons or former school) in order to perform at curriculum level.  Sixth grade students will be taught as beginners and do not need any previous string experience at all!  Rehearsals take place every other day of the school week for an entire class period.  Grades are given for this class and count just as much as all other classes. Class participation and concert attendance is required.

The Orchestra department will present at minimum two to three school concerts per grade level this year. These will be performances held at Richards Middle School and or Central Gwinnett High School. In addition, one or more of the orchestras  may perform in and around the community.
